The children have worked really hard at writing their stories this week. They have thought hard about their capital letters and full stops and using all their phonic knowledge to help them spell.

In phonics we have revised the phonemes: ai, igh, oa, ee, ar, oo, or, ur, ow, air, ear, oi,
ai: train, brain, sail, mail
igh: light, bright, right, sight
oa: goat, boat, float,
ee: bee, see, tree, teeth
ar: car, farm, far, park
oo: moon, broom, room, gloomy
or: fork, torn,
ur: burn, turn,
ow: cow, clown, town,
air: chair, hair, fair,
ear: hear, clear, near
oi: coin, poison, coil, foil

In ChIL the children have been extending their learning making animal patterns using pastels and wax resist. They have made animal masks and sorted coins, made models using a range of construction kits, been scientists investigating mini beasts and life cycles among many other things.

In Woodland learning the children have been discussing different types of mini-beast.  They learnt key language such as: habitats, camouflage, insects, predators and danger.  They looked at the patterns on the mini-beasts. They then used natural materials to make their own homes for the toy mini-beast.

In maths this week the Robins have been learning to share into equal groups. First we recapped doubling and halving  and then explained that we can share equally between a different number. They thought about sharing equally and fairly.

The Ducks learnt about making 10 in different ways. The children used the Numicon to make 10 in all the possible ways.
Next week the Ducks and Robins will swap activities.

Have a lovely weekend
