  • Things to do...
  • Phonics lesson this week have focused on the teaching of high frequency words. Please help your child learn to read and write the first 45 high frequency words.
  • Next week the children will be recapping money. Please talk to your child about the coins and what each is worth. Ask them to sort the coins and count small denominations.
It was a real shame that we didn't go ahead with sports day this week, but the good news is that it has been rescheduled for next Thursday morning. We hope that you will be able to make it.

In ChIL this week the children have enjoyed making obstacle courses, using natural materials to build dens for dinosaurs and wild animals, building with crates and other large construction kits, painting (with fingers, sponges and brushes), blowing huge bubbles, and many other fun things.

The children have been learning about the artist Kandinsky. They have been learning to mix primary colours to make secondary colours. They then used the secondary colours to paint in the style of Kandinsky. Many of the children chose to continue this in ChIL.

The children finished writing their stories this week, making sure they all had a clear ending. They worked really hard and we are really pleased with what they have written.  They also did the final maths activity left from last week based on addition and subtraction.

Next Friday we have 'Sports for Schools' coming in to see us. We have the Triple Jumper  Daniel Lewis coming in to see us. Here is a link from Sports for Schools that we will be watching before the visit. you tube clip sports for schools
