Friday 13th September

Useful information and requests:

  • The 'Welcome to Reception meeting' will be repeated next Tuesday 17th September at 9.15 if you were unable to attend this week. Thank you to those of you who have already attended.  The power point will be available for you to read on the School Website.
  • There is a 'Reading, Writing and Maths' workshop on Wednesday 25th September at 7.30pm which gives a great incite into helping your child learn to read, write and learn maths.
  • The children will have their individual school photos taken next Wednesday 18th September.
  • The children will have PE next Monday. They will need bare feet so if they find removing tights tricky this may be a good day to wear socks!
  • If you would like to help in school you need to attend safeguarding training. This will be led by Miss Vela on Friday 20th September at 9am.
  • Things to do...
  • Read books to your child and talk about any rhyming words you come across.
  • Encourage your child to practise taking their shoes and socks off and putting them back on ready for PE on Monday.  Practise putting jumper on and taking it off too!

The children  have managed very well with lunch this week and have coped staying the whole day. They are all rather tired now and will require a quiet weekend!

This week the children have been singing lots of number rhymes and we have started to complete the baseline assessments. It is a good opportunity for us to have some 1:1 time with each child. The children have loved being outside during ChIL and have all been extremely focused in their learning.

Have a lovely weekend,
The Year R Team
